Defend our Freedom to Vote

Our freedom to vote is under direct attack. Republicans are once again pushing a wave of voter suppression bills — rebranded versions of their notorious SAVE Act — with one clear goal: to silence millions of eligible voters and rig our democracy in their favor.

These bills would require voters to show proof of citizenship, like a passport or original birth certificate with their current legal name, just to register for federal elections. Because this proof must be shown in person, the bills would effectively eliminate online and mail-in voter registration altogether.

This isn’t about security. It’s about silencing voters.

Who This Targets

These bills would disproportionately harm:

  • Married women and others who’ve changed their names, whose documents don’t match

  • Naturalized citizens, facing new barriers and intimidation

  • Trans and nonbinary people, whose IDs are often questioned

  • Rural voters, who rely on online and mail-in registration

  • Military members, tribal citizens, and working-class people without easy access to these documents

We’ve seen this playbook before. In states like Kansas and Arizona, similar laws blocked tens of thousands of eligible voters from registering

Non-citizens are already barred from voting. States already verify eligibility.
These bills are unnecessary—and deliberately harmful.

Tell Daines, Sheehy, and Zinke we don't let politicians pick their voters.

Here's Your Script:

Hello, I’m a constituent from [part of Montana], and I’m calling to ask [Senator Daines, Senator Sheehy, or Representative Zinke] to vote against the SAVE Act, the MEGA Act, or any bill that attacks our voting rights.

There are already strict laws in place preventing anyone who is not a citizen from voting in federal elections. These bills aren’t about election security—they are a blatant voter suppression tactic designed to make it harder for millions of eligible Americans to register and vote.

Tell [Senator Daines, Senator Sheehy, or Representative Zinke] that I expect him to protect voting rights—not make voting more difficult. I urge him to vote NO on any bills that would infringe on our freedom to vote.
